Pick high-signal threads
Search Reddit for your category, competitor names, or problem keywords. Prioritize threads with recent activity and substantive comment counts: launch threads, r/SaaS feedback posts, and subreddit recommendation lists are common sources.
Save the thread URL in your notes so you can re-scrape later if the discussion grows.
Export structured JSON for scripts
Use JSON export when you want to pipe data into Python, Node, or a spreadsheet macro. JSON preserves nested reply relationships when thread metadata is enabled.
Combine exports from multiple threads into a folder per research project. Social Scraper+ stores recent scrapes in local History inside the extension.
Stay within Reddit's rules
You are responsible for complying with Reddit's terms of service and applicable laws. Social Scraper+ reads pages you open in your browser; it is not affiliated with Reddit, Inc.
Use exports for internal research, analysis, and archiving. Do not republish full comment threads as if they were your own content.
