How to Scrape Reddit Comments to CSV

Whether you are researching product feedback, tracking AMA answers, or archiving a discussion before a thread is deleted, exporting Reddit comments to CSV gives you a structured file you can filter, chart, or import into other tools.

Open the thread you want to export

Navigate to any public Reddit post on reddit.com or old.reddit.com while logged in or logged out. Social Scraper+ reads the page you have open. It does not require Reddit API keys or a developer account.

Long threads with hundreds of comments work best when you let the page finish loading collapsed replies before scraping.

Scrape with Social Scraper+

Open the Social Scraper+ side panel from the Chrome toolbar, confirm the status pill shows you are on a Reddit thread, and click Scrape Comments.

Review the preview in the panel. Toggle fields in Settings if you only need certain columns. For CSV exports, scores, metadata, and thread depth are often useful.

Download CSV

Click the CSV button in the export bar. The file downloads to your Downloads folder with the post title in the filename.

Open the CSV in Excel, Google Sheets, or any data tool. Each row is typically one comment with columns for author, body, score, timestamp, and parent comment ID when thread metadata is enabled.

Tips for clean data

Expand collapsed comment threads on Reddit before scraping if you need every nested reply.

For recurring research, save exports with a date prefix (for example, 2026-07-product-feedback.csv) so you can compare threads over time.
